What is the BRICS Committee for International Cooperation in Health Care?

The BRICS Committee for International Cooperation in Health Care (BCICH) aims to promote a fair and effective health management model based on the combination of traditional medicine and modern health care technology in BRICS countries. An international cooperation organization established by BRICS governments, medical care, science and technology, industry and commerce, and judicial circles with the goal of greatly improving the health and quality of life of the people in BRICS countries and promoting the economic and social upgrading and development of BRICS countries.

The establishment of BCICH was initiated by the high-level meeting of BRICS health ministers and traditional medicine in July 201July. On 20 18, the 10th BRICS Summit held in Johannesburg, South Africa officially launched the Preparatory Committee of the BRICS International Cooperation Organization on Health Care, headquartered in port elizabeth, South Africa. At the same time, it is planned to set up institutional affairs departments in China, Russian Federation, Indian Federation and Brazil, and only members of sovereign countries are allowed to join. The Board of Directors of the BRICS Health Deliberation Committee is composed of representatives from the business circles of BRICS countries and African countries. The first chairman is Mr. CedricFrolick, the current President of the National Parliamentary Affairs of South Africa. BCICH is an advisory and coordinating body for health issues in BRICS countries. Responsible for providing investigation and strategic consultation for BRICS health affairs, drafting health agenda, formulating health care standards and evidence-based health care policy programs, providing technical support for health care for BRICS countries, and monitoring and evaluating health development and improvement measures in BRICS countries. Follow the Joint Declaration on Strengthening Cooperation in Traditional Medicine in BRICS Countries issued by the BRICS Health Ministers' Meeting and the High-level Meeting on Traditional Medicine-give priority to people's health, promote the BRICS countries to incorporate health into international cooperation, build a good health system through innovation, fully consider the universality, sociality and integrity of health elements, persist in providing basic medical and health systems to the whole people as public products, and pursue high quality and efficiency in graded diagnosis and treatment, modern hospital management, traditional medicine and comprehensive supervision.
