Difference between refined vegetable oil and cold-pressed vegetable oil
Different production methods.
There are two traditional methods of cold pressing, one is to press seeds, nuts or kernels in a way that is done by water pressure, which is suitable for softer seeds such as sesame and sunflower seeds. The other, harder seeds like safflower, require a more powerful press to crush the plant material and may be repeated more than once. This process generates some degree of heat, and the amount of oil obtained is smaller and more expensive.
The process of making refined vegetable oils usually involves high temperatures and the use of chemical additives.
