Historical origin:

As early as the Western Zhou Dynasty (BC 1 1 century-BC 77 1 year), China's dyeing and weaving technology had developed greatly. According to the Book of Rites and other documents, there were officials in charge of fabric dyeing at that time, and there were also "Lanyin" officials in charge of indigo production in Chu State. It shows that the silk weaving and dyeing process at that time was quite large.

Miao batik has a long history, and batik songs (an ancient song) are popular in many places to describe the origin of batik. As early as the Qin and Han Dynasties, the ancestors of Miao people had mastered batik technology. According to Guizhou Tongzhi, "Flowers are painted on cloth with wax and dyed. When the wax is removed, the pattern is like painting. " This batik cloth was once called "dry spot cloth".
