The 24 Solar Terms Songs and Proverbs

The Traditional Meaning of the 24 Solar Terms
The 24 Solar Terms, like the current Gregorian calendar, are based on the Earth's rotation around the Sun, so the dates of the Solar Terms are relatively fixed in the Gregorian calendar. From the naming of the 24 solar terms, it can be seen that the division of the solar terms takes full account of the changes in natural phenomena such as seasons, climate, and physical phenomena.
The Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring Equinox, Autumn Equinox, Summer Solstice, and Winter Solstice are used to reflect the four seasons of the year: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. The spring, summer, fall and winter solstices reflect the beginning of the spring, summer, fall and winter seasons. The spring equinox, fall equinox, summer solstice and winter solstice are divided from an astronomical point of view, reflecting the turning point of the sun's altitude change. Vernal Equinox: the middle of spring, when day and night are equally divided. Summer solstice: the day is the longest and the night is the shortest. Autumn equinox: the middle of fall, day and night are equally divided. Winter solstice: the day goes into nine, the day is short and the night is long. Due to China's vast territory, with a very pronounced monsoon and continental climate, the weather and climate of each place varies greatly, so the four seasons in different regions are also very different.
The five seasons, including Xiao Xia, Da Xia, Shi Shi, Xiao Han and Da Han, reflect changes in temperature and are used to indicate the degree of heat and cold at different times of the year. Great Heat: The hottest time of the year. The first summer heat: The word "处" has the meaning of hiding and ending, indicating that the heat is about to pass. Little Cold: The climate is already cold. The coldest time of the year.
White Dew, cold dew, frost on the surface of the three seasons reflect the phenomenon of water vapor condensation, condensation, but essentially reflects the process and degree of gradual decline in temperature: White Dew: the temperature drops to a certain extent, the night is cooler, the air 'water vapor condensation phenomenon; Cold Dew: the temperature is significantly lower, the night condensation increased, and more and more cool; Frost: frost begins to fall. When the temperature drops below zero degrees Celsius, water vapor condensation for frost.
Xiaoman and Mangsui reflect the ripening and harvesting of the crops concerned. Xiaoman: wheat and other hot summer crops are gradually full of seeds.
Hibernation, Qingming reflects the natural phenomenon of climate, hibernation: the beginning of thunder, hibernating animals revived. Qingming: the climate is warm, the weather is clear and bright. Especially the hibernation, which uses the first thunder in the sky and the revival of underground stinging insects to herald the return of spring.
The four solar terms of Yushui, Guyu, Xiaoxue and Daxue reflect the phenomenon of precipitation, indicating the timing and intensity of rainfall and snowfall. Rain: the beginning of rainfall. Grain rain: rainfall increases, which is favorable to the growth of cereals. Light Snow: the beginning of snowfall. Heavy snow: heavier snowfall.
