Tongrentang traditional ancient law

"Compassionate practitioners help the world keep healthy" comes from Tong Ren Tang.

Founder of Tong Ren Tang, surnamed Le, from Ningbo, Zhejiang. He came to Beijing to make a living during Yongle period of Ming Dynasty. At first, he made a living by ringing bells to practice medicine and selling medicines for others in Beijing. In the early years of the Qing Dynasty, his descendant Le Zun was educated in the imperial palace of the Qing Dynasty and served as an official of the imperial palace. In the eighth year of Kangxi (1669), Le Wugang, the son of Le Zunyu, with the help of friends, opened Tongrentang drugstore in the south of Dashilan Road.

According to legend, Le Jia once cured an old disease for Emperor Kangxi. Emperor Kangxi wrote, "Fellow practitioners are kind-hearted, and help the world keep in good health", and gave it to a big pharmacy named Tong Ren Tang in Le Jia. After decades of operation, Tongrentang began to supply traditional Chinese medicine to the royal pharmacies of the Qing Dynasty during the Yongzheng period (about 1723), and became famous from then on.

Brand culture

"Two Dare" was first written by Le Feng Ming, founder of Tongrentang Pharmacy, at 1706. It is an ancient motto that Tongrentang people stick to today.

The original intention of "two never dare" is: no matter how complicated the production process and technology are, in order to ensure the remarkable curative effect, we dare not slack off and save steps; No matter how high the cost of traditional Chinese medicine formula is, no matter how scarce medicinal materials are, we dare not be stingy and save materials for the sake of treasure.

"Two musts" embodies the quality concept based on the spirit of honesty. On this basis, Tongrentang people summed up the business philosophy of "honesty is the foundation, medicine morality is the soul" and the code of conduct of "morality, sincerity and faithfulness", which ensured "remarkable curative effect" and realized the ideal of "saving the world and keeping in good health".
