I. Introduction to Geography

Geographical coordinates are 107 52'- 108 28' east longitude and 27 32'-28 10' north latitude. It borders Yinjiang County, Shiqian County, Fenggang County and Dejiang County respectively. The county is located in the northern edge of Guizhou Plateau to Xiangxi Mountain Slope, between Wuling Mountain and Dalou Mountain. Controlled by structure, lithology and Wujiang river system, it presents many landforms such as peak cluster mountains, gentle hilly valleys, river valleys and stone forests. The highest point in the territory is Zhang Ziyan on the southeast edge, with an altitude of 1434m, and the Wujiang River north of the lowest point is 343m, with the maximum relative height difference of1091m.

The main stream of Wujiang River divides the county into two parts from southwest to northeast, from the valley bottom of Wujiang River to the intermountain basin, and then to the barrier mountain in the east and northwest, forming a "V"-shaped topographic basic outline with high northwest edge in the east, low Wujiang River valley in the middle and inclined to Wujiang River in the east and west. Rivers in the county belong to Wujiang River system, which runs through the county from southwest to northeast, with a length of 78. 13km. Branches on both sides are dendritic, and there are 28 rivers with a basin area of more than 20km, with a total length of 533.25km, including 78km in Sinan section of Wujiang River, with a river network density of 24.3km/ 100km.

According to the internal and external dynamics and surface morphology of landform formation, the landform in this area can be divided into four types: structural erosion, dissolution, low mountain valley, dissolution, erosion and accumulation.

The exposed strata in the county are Cambrian, Ordovician, Silurian, Permian and Triassic from old to new. Triassic and Permian strata are most widely exposed, followed by Silurian and Ordovician, and Quaternary is rare. The missing strata are Devonian, Carboniferous, Jurassic and Cretaceous.

Third, geological structure.

Sinan county is located in the west edge of Xuefeng ancient land stable platform in geological structure, and in the northeast structural deformation zone of Fenggang with the Zunyi fault arch in Tailong, northern Guizhou. Therefore, the development of faults and folds has created a unique geological and geomorphological environment in Sinan County. It is mainly manifested in two groups of structural systems: NE and NE. It is mainly NE-trending structure, which was formed in Yanshanian period. It is composed of parallel folds and high-angle compression faults, and it is a twisted structure with zigzag arrangement. Folds and faults bend in an "S" shape to the east, and tensile and torsional faults develop in the bending parts. The syncline is open and the anticline is narrow. The main folds are Xujiaba syncline, Tangtou syncline and Yingwuxi anticline. The main faults are Daheba and Shiqian compressional faults. Secondly, the NE-trending structure formed before Xuefeng period is mainly characterized by a series of parallel compression-torsion faults. Sinan compression-torsion fault and Tangtou compression-torsion fault are the main faults in this area, which are regional large faults.

Fourth, geological disasters.

Sinan is located in Sinan, Tangtou and Shiqian regional active fault zones, with frequent tectonic activities in the late Neogene. According to the records of Sinan Prefecture, Sinan is a microseismic area. From 1884 to 2000, there were more than * * earthquakes 10, and the largest recorded magnitude was 5.25, equivalent to 6.3 degrees. Recently1August 8, 1996, an earthquake of magnitude 3.8 occurred. Barite deposit is a low-temperature hot night deposit, which is distributed in barite deposits in Wenjiadian Town, Dabachang Town and Wenjiadian Laojiadao. There is no geological work, only surface survey. It is about 1.5KM long, 12 ~ 15m wide and 8 ~ 1om thick. A barite mine with a length of 500m is exposed on the surface.

Mercury deposits include Shachang mercury deposit and six wells mercury deposit, both of which are hot night deposits. The surrounding rock of the mercury mine is Qingxudong Fm (∈ 1q) limestone of Lower Cambrian, and the mercury content is 0.009 ~ 0.56 1%. Six wells mercury mineralization point Cinnabar occurs in ∈2-3, 1n in the broken dolomite, calcite crystal cave or calcite vein of Shuiping and Cherry, with a grain size of 0. 1 ~ 0.2mm and weak mineralization.

Iron ore resources occur in Wujiaping Formation of Upper Permian and the bottom of Loushanguan Group of Middle and Upper Cambrian. Occurred in the west wing of Xujiaba syncline at the bottom of Upper Permian Wujiaping Formation, the discovered iron ore resources include Shatuo Iron Mine in Xujiaba Town, Gaicao Iron Mine in Zhangjiazhai Town and Xiaowuji Iron Mine in Donghua Town. Iron ore is formed by weathering clay mudstone containing pyrite, and the iron ore is produced in a layered lenticular shape. The length of the ore body extending along the slope depends on the depth of the wind oxidation zone. TFE is 30 ~ 45.26%. S: 0.05 1 ~ 1.2%，P:0.032 ~ 0.5%，(Cao+MgO+SiO 2+HL 203):0.3 ~ 0.5%。 None of the above iron ore sites has carried out systematic geological work. The only iron ore that occurs in the strata of Loushanguan Group of Middle-Upper Cambrian is Daxing Iron Mine in Dabachang Town, which is oxidized iron ore. According to sampling analysis, TFE is 66%, which was smelted and mined by the state-owned Daxing Iron Mine in 1958 during the Great Leap Forward.

Lead-zinc deposit is located in the axis of Daheba anticline and occurs in the secondary fault zone, which belongs to hot night deposit.
