Requirements of traditional geometric flower arrangement modeling design
Geometric flower arrangement mostly adopts herbal flowers, with huge flowers and bright colors. According to their shapes and different functions in composition, flowers can be divided into four categories. Let me show you the requirements of traditional geometric flower arrangement design!
? First, the requirements for flower materials
Geometric flower arrangement mostly adopts herbal flowers, with huge flowers and bright colors. According to their shapes and different functions in composition, flowers can be divided into four categories.
(1) The skeleton flower is long or linear, which mainly plays a skeleton role in flower arrangement composition and determines the shape, size and direction of modeling. Generally, long spike flowers or single cluster flowers or branches with tall and straight stems are selected, such as gladiolus, verbena, snapdragon, tuberose, rose, carnation, cattail, cycad leaves and orchid leaves.
(2) Regular round or irregular flowers with special shapes are usually inserted in the center of gravity of the composition, which is where the line of sight is concentrated. Therefore, we should pay special attention to the selection of plump and beautiful flowers, with one stem of flowers as well, such as chrysanthemum, lily, rose, carnation, gerbera jamesonii, cattleya, Anthurium andraeanum and so on.
(3) The main flower is the flower material that completes the whole modeling outline. Use block flowers or linear flowers.
(4) Patching flowers are tiny, tufted or pinnate flowers or leaves, which mainly play the role of filling and transition in composition, so that the flowers are full and layered, and the skeleton flowers are in harmony with the focus flowers, such as Mantianxing, Xiao Ju, Acacia, Pearl Plum and Asparagus.
Second, the requirements for the length of floral organs and branches
The flower devices used in western flower arrangement are not as exquisite as those used in eastern flower arrangement. Generally choose a light-colored shallow dish or goblet. Generally, the floral pattern covers all floral devices without being exposed. At this time, it doesn't matter if it is proportional to the flower. As long as the size of the pattern is determined according to the location or site of the decoration. If the floral organ is exposed, it is still determined by the floral organ unit with the maximum length of 1.5-2 times.
Third, the requirements for flower shapes.
Traditional geometric flower arrangement has many fixed forms, such as triangle, hemisphere, horizontal, fan-shaped, conical, inverted T-shaped, L-shaped, S-shaped, crescent-shaped and equilateral triangle. Each form has its corresponding format and composition, but it should meet the following basic requirements.
(1) Geometric flower arrangement with regular shape and clear outline requires clear and neat outline, and no matter how many flowers are used, they cannot exceed the edge of the figure.
The shape of flower material also has a great influence on the pattern of geometric flower arrangement. When inserting vertical lines and horizontal lines, flowers with straight pedicels should be selected; When inserting an arc, you should choose flowers with curved pedicels. If you insert straight flowers into the arc, it is easy to destroy the geometric shape and lose the aesthetic feeling.
The outline consists of the vertex lines of the outermost flowers, and the shapes of these vertex lines are the patterns of flower arrangement works. Such as triangle, L-shape or meniscus, S-shape, etc. If the outline is not clear, you can't see the shape. Therefore, when arranging flowers, we must ensure that the length of each flower branch does not destroy the contour line, which can also be regarded as the unified point of flower shape.
(2) Various forms of geometric flower arrangement with rich layers and strong three-dimensional sense should not only have corresponding geometric figures on the outline from the front, but also have regular shapes from the side, that is, the figures formed by flowers should be three-dimensional rather than flat. For example, triangular flower arrangement, not only from the front, but also from the side, is a triangular pyramid in essence. Flowers are not only arranged at the edge of the outline, but at different levels of the whole space. Through perspective projection, it is only a triangular image from the front, which is the key to a good or bad work. The master of flower arrangement will make the flower shape show a clear three-dimensional level through the size of the flower, the length of the flower branch and the depth of the color.
(3) Focused, clear priorities. Any flower shape has its structural center of gravity, which can stabilize the figure. Its position is the intersection of axes, which is about 1/5- 1/4 height. The flowers here are relatively dense, and some flowers with special or large shapes should also be inserted here, which will become the focus of flower shapes. The focus is the center of the work, and other parts are secondary.
The direction of flowers and leaves is centered on the focus and gradually shifts around according to the centrifugal law. The flowers in the upper part are upward, while the flowers on the left and right sides are opposite and echo each other to the left and right. Just like an orientation, it loses its geometric charm. The direction of the leaves is based on the natural growth law, facing the focus (like leaves opening around the stem) and gradually opening, with edges, so that the inserted peanuts are dynamic. If the leaves are all facing forward, they will look dull and lifeless; If it's only inserted in the lower part, it's open on the back and has no aesthetic feeling. This is also the performance of flower arrangement skills. The key area can be a big flower or bow, or other important elements that can control the whole work, but it must not be empty and messy.
Fourth, the color requirements of geometric flower arrangement
Color is the most striking and appealing aesthetic factor. The quality of color matching is often the key to the success of a work and the embodiment of the author's artistic attainments. In western-style flower arrangement, the expression of color is very important, which requires thick and gorgeous, and creates a warm and pleasant atmosphere. Generally, a work has several colors. The traditional insertion method is to insert all kinds of flowers together to achieve a colorful effect; The modern popular group insertion method is to insert flowers with the same tone together, so that the difference between one piece and another piece has a strong effect. Western flower arrangement also has the habit of monochromatic flowers, such as using pure white flowers to express purity at weddings. Please refer to Chapter 3 for color matching design.
