Wulin Gaidian is a chapter book costume sitcom directed by Shang Jing and starring Yanni, Shayi, Yao Chen, Yu Entai, Jiang Chao, and Wang Shasha.

The series premiered on January 2, 2006 in the prime time slot on CCTV's Drama Channel, and has been rebroadcast on various local TV stations in mainland China. It was premiered in Hong Kong by TVB and in Taiwan by the eight major TV stations.

The story of Wulin Outlaws revolves around Tong Xiangyu, the proprietress of the Tongfu Inn in the town of "Seven Heroes" in the Guanzhong region of the virtual Ming Dynasty (circa Wanli period), and her fellows. This group of young people performs a classic funny scene under the same roof, and grows up together with the audience through laughter and tears.

Film Review

Formally speaking, the style of "Martial Arts Outreach" is indeed very pioneering and fashionable, and the expressive techniques used are collage, irony and parody, not restricted by time and space, regardless of the classification of the subject matter, dialects, jokes, games, advertising terms, film culture, pop music and so on, which is at hand, and has strong postmodernist tendencies. The movie has a strong postmodernist tendency.

But the play has carefully grasped the "degree of parody", clicked on the contemporary life in the playful irony, and vividly parodied the state of life after an ideal weightlessness.
