Why should China mark the New Year with blessings?
"Fu" is a pictophonetic character, which means happiness and blessing in Chinese. Sticking the word "Fu" during the Spring Festival is a traditional cultural custom in China. It originated from ancient spring posts, expressing people's wishes and hopes for a happy life.
Literally, the left side of the word "fu" means clothing, and the right side of the word "one" means peace, mouth means population, and field means land. Having clothes and food means "blessing", "blessing" means praying, and praying for someone to have a safe field means "blessing".
