How to build an enterprise's innovation system?

I once discussed the innovation system with the consulting experts of CUHK. Experts say that innovation is the source of competitive advantage and the key to sustainable development of enterprises. However, innovation is a comprehensive work with high risks and high requirements for intellectual capital. Therefore, enterprises need to build a complete innovation system.

First, clear innovation strategy. Different innovation strategies are suitable for different situations and conditions. Different enterprises have their own advantages and characteristics and face different markets. They must consider their own technology, equipment, capital and other conditions, and choose the most suitable innovation strategy according to local conditions.

Second, the construction of innovative organizations. The innovation work of enterprises can not be separated from the construction of innovation organizations at all levels, including the group level and the business department level. The innovation organizations of general enterprises mainly include: Academia Sinica, chief engineer team, R&D centers at all levels, and innovation management departments.

Third, innovation process and mechanism construction. Innovation will inevitably produce communication and coordination interface between organizations, so innovation process management has become an important part of innovation management. Excellent process management will promote the transformation of innovation results and shorten the commercialization cycle. The core of process management is the interface among R&D, marketing, manufacturing and process design.

Fourth, innovate fund and budget management. It is of great significance to innovate fund budget management. Excellent enterprises should not only ensure the total investment of R&D expenses. We should better understand the principles of R&D fund allocation and the methods of R&D budget, accounting and cost control. For forward-looking project budgets, even the majority is subordinate to the minority.

Fifth, innovate the incentive mechanism. Innovative talents are people who have innovative consciousness, innovative spirit, innovative thinking and innovative ability and can achieve innovative results. The incentive mechanism of innovative talents is also different from ordinary salary.

Sixth, innovate data governance. The innovation platform of an enterprise needs to synchronize the filing of innovation data and information with the daily project establishment, research and development, design, experiment and acceptance, so as to ensure that the data and information archived in each innovation technology research and development activity are complete, accurate and systematic.

Seven, the construction of innovative culture. Enterprise innovation culture is an advanced rule to guide employees' innovative behavior, which has the functions of clarifying employees' organizational status, increasing employees' recognition of organizational innovation, standardizing employees' innovative behavior and stimulating employees' innovative enthusiasm.
