Why do you close the mountain to facilitate afforestation?

Closing hillsides to facilitate afforestation is an artificial way to gradually restore forest vegetation and promote natural regeneration by using the natural ability of trees to sow, germinate and sprout, and closing open woodlands, shrub lands and barren hills and wasteland with enclosure conditions for a limited time, supplemented by corresponding afforestation techniques. This is actually the traditional way for people in mountainous areas to cultivate forests. At present, the mountainous area to be rebuilt in China accounts for nearly 7% of the national territory. The three main ways to build and restore forest vegetation are closing hillsides to facilitate afforestation, aerial seeding afforestation and artificial afforestation. In 2004, the newly closed hillsides accounted for nearly 40% of the country's afforestation area, marking a major change in China's afforestation methods. Closing hillsides to facilitate afforestation will replace artificial afforestation as the main afforestation method in China, which means that "natural forces" will play a greater role in improving China's ecological environment. Although artificial afforestation is still the main way in areas where the original vegetation has been destroyed, more attention is paid to local conditions in tree species selection and planting methods to meet ecological standards.
