What are the Three Principles and Four Virtues?

The Three Principles: the principle of the ruler is the principle of the minister, the principle of the father is the principle of the son, and the principle of the husband is the principle of the wife

The Five Principles:

1. It is the ethical relationship between ruler and minister, father and son, brother, husband and wife, and friend as stipulated by feudal rites, i.e., there is righteousness between ruler and minister, there is kinship between father and son, there is order between the young and the old, there is difference between husband and wife, and there is trust between friends. Among the five ethical relationships, the relationship between the ruler and the ministers is the most important one, so it is also called the "Great Ethics".

2. The "Five Teachings": five feudal ethics, namely, father's righteousness, mother's kindness, brother's friendship, brother's respect, and son's filial piety.

3. refers to benevolence, righteousness, courtesy, wisdom, and faith

Three obedience: from the father when young, from the husband when married, and from the son when the husband dies. (All refer to women obeying men)

Four Virtues: Women's Virtue, Women's Words, Women's Appearance, Women's Merit
