Where is the sculpture of the son of the earth in Gansu?

The sculpture "Son of the Earth" is located in the Gobi desert on the red hillside of Guazhou County, Dunhuang City, Gansu Province. The main body of the sculpture is a huge baby,15m long, 4.3m high and 9m wide, lying on the ground and sleeping peacefully on the vast Gobi desert. Professor Dong Shubing combed and studied the large sculptures in the world, and tried to apply the creative materials of large sculptures available in China at present. He chose red sandstone as the main material, obtained model data through 3D scanning, carved in blocks, and finally carved and installed in blocks.

This project was listed as the 20 16 annual artistic creation funding project of the National Art Foundation, which was jointly created by Tsinghua University Academy of Fine Arts, German Marcarlton Artists Association, Guazhou County Government and German-Chinese Art Design Exchange Association, with technical support provided by Beijing Natural Story Landscape Sculpture Co., Ltd., and the completed works were donated to Guazhou County Government free of charge and permanently placed on the Gobi Desert on the red hillside of Guazhou County.

The art I understand is the cultural exchange that people choose at the spiritual level. This kind of communication is indispensable. The existence of works of art is from abstract to concrete, and it is integrated into people's lives. The role of an artist is to create works of art. ..

Art, a way of life that people choose, is strange, bizarre and unremarkable. In the universe, between the intangible and the tangible, in fact, everyone will create their own art.

On the endless Gobi desert, the wind and sand are raging, and the coarse gravel is connected with the fine sand of weeds, and then overlooking the endless ground from the air, a huge baby is sleeping soundly on the Gobi desert.

The sculpture "Son of the Earth" was created by Professor Dong Shubing, director of the Sculpture Department of Tsinghua University Academy of Fine Arts. Red sandstone is selected as the main material, and the sculpture model data is obtained through three-dimensional scanning, and then the sculptures are carved in blocks, and finally the outdoor large-scale sculptures are carved and installed one by one.

The main body of the sculpture Son of the Earth is a giant baby sleeping peacefully, with a length of 15m, a height of 4.3m and a width of 9m. After the sculpture is completed, it will be donated to the Guazhou county government for free and permanently placed on the Gobi desert on the red hillside next to the 270 county road in Guazhou county.

As a result, Guazhou, which was originally only gravel and barren, suddenly became a pilgrimage site for people to travel.

Looking at Gobi and sculpture separately, both of them are inconspicuous and can't attract so many people, but the perfect combination of this giant sculpture and Gobi is strange, and more importantly, the huge impact produced by the strong contrast is even more surprising.

Babies are a small part of people's subjective influence, but the sons of the earth are presented in a huge proportion, which has a strong visual impact effect. The baby itself is a tender, innocent and petite life. Such a son of the earth shows shocking vitality and respect for life itself.

Only when the value of sculpture itself is combined with the value of environment can it reflect a deeper meaning. On the vast Gobi desert, it is the way for human beings to get along with nature. Man and nature have reached a state of harmonious coexistence, and protecting nature is the premise. Children of the earth lie in the desert, close to nature and listen to nature.
