Recommend Lectures on Economics-the best introductory reading in economics.

In fact, I started to study economics from the recommended bibliography of the program "Thinking in Luo Ji", and started from "A Lesson of Economics", "Devil Economics" and "Economic Interpretation". But I didn't buy a physical book at first, but bought an e-book, because it was very cheap to rent a car online at that time, and I would have 20 minutes to read books when I took a taxi to work every day. That year, I finished "One Lesson Economics" and "Devil Economics". But I really don't understand the explanation of economics.

Later, when I accidentally searched Zhang Wuchang on the Internet, a Weibo in Zhang Wuchang appeared, but the manager was not Zhang Wuchang himself, but a university teacher named Li Junhui. This university is unknown. Fortunately, I didn't know about it at first, so I read the articles in Weibo one by one, and felt that the quality of writing was very high. Then I found the author of these articles and Li Junhui, a very unknown economist in China, in Baidu Post Bar. Although unknown, its economic skill has made many star economists feel ashamed.

Two years ago, I began to pay attention to her articles on the post bar, and then I began to read the lectures on economics. Of course, I went to see the lecture notes on economics mainly because her articles always mentioned the lecture notes on economics in many places, and some places were really incomprehensible without reading. The content in it is too subversive for most people to understand, so I guess this book should not be a best seller. But surprisingly, I agree with the contents of the book very much, as if I already knew it.

Of course, the real reason is definitely not this, which shows that I have a characteristic that makes me particularly good at studying economics. And this trait is the first threshold of studying economics-abandoning values. In fact, many people who can't learn economics well are stuck in this threshold. My colleagues can't understand Xue Zhaofeng's economics courses because they can't give up their values. Of course, there are still values. My abandonment here refers to the abandonment of studying economics and applied economics. Never do this when you are in contact with people at ordinary times. This abandonment is in my mind.

Of course, there is another difficulty in China, that is, the education in middle schools has shaped people's values too much, mainly the education in political courses in middle schools. In fact, it contains knowledge of economics. Unfortunately, he is talking about Marxist economics, not traditional economics. Traditional economics is full of mistakes, and Marxist economics is full of mistakes. But we have to say that middle school education in China is really effective, because the main mistake of Marxist economics is that it is mixed with values, so people are more likely to accept this kind of thing with values. So why is natural science so difficult to learn? Because it is born without values, and it is purely intellectual activity. Of course, it's hard. But compared with social science (that is, economics), natural science has a great advantage without the interference of values, because people automatically shield the interference of values when they study. But social science is not so lucky.

The difficulty of social science (economics) lies in the interference of values. Social science should also explain everything in the world, but there are two ways to explain it, one is scientific and the other is unscientific. The former is the right method and the latter is wrong, but the former is difficult and the latter is relatively easy. One of the unscientific explanations is to explain it with values, including moral concepts, personal prejudice, nationality and so on. These are values rather than scientific analysis. What science actually solves is the question of what (is), not what (is) it should be. But it's the same problem. Although it is unscientific to explain with values, it is simple after all. In real life, people should strike a balance between correctness and simplicity.

This thing is really difficult to say and do. Take the once sensational "Ali fired employees who cheated and robbed moon cakes". Most people's discussion on this matter focuses on the level of values. But once it comes to this level, it is fair and reasonable. Wu Jun, the manager of the letter from Silicon Valley, also analyzed this matter with values, so the analysis was a mess. Wu Jun is a very powerful figure, and he is really good at computer and writing, but he still lacks the correct methodology to explain social problems in the real world. To know that Wu Jun himself was born in a computer science class, he should be very familiar with scientific methods, but once used to explain social problems in the real world, he will still fall into the pit of values.

So sometimes it's not that I don't know how to use scientific methods, but it's too difficult to study social problems with scientific methods, and it's inevitable to use values to explain problems when I'm eager to draw conclusions. Economics is to solve this problem, and its essence is a set of theories to explain social problems by scientific methods, so learning economics well is helpful to think about social problems by scientific methods.

So who is the best to learn from? Of course, if you are at a high level, you'd better read Zhang Wuchang directly. But I suggest not to see Zhang Wuchang yet, because it's too difficult to understand. Zhang Wuchang lives in the United States all the year round, so his writing habits are actually quite different from those of traditional China people. Then this "Lecture Notes on Economics" is very suitable, and the author is Li Junhui. Special emphasis is placed on the author because Xue Zhaofeng also wrote lectures on economics, but the quality is extremely poor, which shows that Xue Zhaofeng has never thought about the mistakes in traditional economics, so Zhang Wuchang once criticized Xue Zhaofeng's economics. After studying Economics Lecture Notes (Li Junhui) deeply, I practiced writing for nearly two years. The application of scientific methods in social sciences has begun, so the quality of articles tends to be stable recently. But you still have to work harder to do what you want to do.

Finally, the lecture notes on economics are recommended again. Note that it was written by Li Junhui, and it has been published in the second edition. If you are interested in economics, please be sure to read this article.
