Mr. Kang Zhen's Profile

Kang Zhen, born in March 1970, Suide, Shaanxi Province, a member of the C*** Party, is an expert in the study of ancient Chinese literature and traditional culture, a professor, and a doctoral supervisor, and is currently a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Beijing Normal University, and a vice president.

Kang Zhen received his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees from Shaanxi Normal University in 1993-2000; he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Postdoctoral Station of Chinese Language and Literature at Nanjing Normal University in 2000-2002; he was appointed to teach at the College of Liberal Arts of Beijing Normal University in 2002; and he was appointed as the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Liberal Arts of Beijing Normal University in 2004. In 2004, he became Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Letters of Beijing Normal University.

In 2005, he gave lectures on "Li Bai, the Poet", "Du Fu, the Sage of Poetry", and "Su Shi" in CCTV's "The Hundred Lectures"; he also served as a literary advisor and critic for CCTV's "Chinese Poetry Conference", "The Classics", "The Long Reader", and "Chinese Character Dictation Conference".

In 2006, he became vice dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Beijing Normal University; in 2008, he was promoted to the title of professor; in 2010, he was selected for the Ministry of Education's "New Century Outstanding Talents Support Program"; in 2012, he became the director of the Party Committee and the President's Office of Beijing Normal University.

In 2016, Kang Zhen was selected as a young scholar under the "Yangtze River Scholars Award Program" of the Ministry of Education; in 2019, he was selected as a Distinguished Professor of the Ministry of Education; and in 2020, he was selected as one of the "Four Batches of Talents" in Beijing's propaganda, ideology and culture system. Kang Zhen is mainly engaged in the teaching and research of ancient Chinese literature and traditional culture.
