"Begging for conversion" is a unique traditional festival of Huayao in Longhui, and it is also a unique cultural phenomenon that distinguishes Huayao in Longhui from Yao people all over the country. Spread in Longhui Yao inhabited areas in the northwest of Longhui County, such as Huxingshan Yao Township, Xiaoshajiang Town, Dashuitian Township and Matangshan Township.
"Begging for conversion to Liao" is a transliteration of Huayao language, which means to escape from the ferocious bodhisattva and hold "begging for conversion to Liao". It was an important measure for the survival and development of Huayao compatriots under specific historical conditions. It is such a measure that Huayao, a unique branch of Yao nationality, can prosper and its unique culture can be inherited and developed.
Nowadays, Huayao's "begging the bride" has developed into an important cultural exchange activity, which has promoted national unity and economic development. On the ninth day of the seventh lunar month every year, it is a traditional festival for Huayao compatriots in Xiaoshajiang Town and Huxingshan Yao Township of Longhui County-"begging for food and conversion".
