The concept of "pinyin": Hanyu Pinyin is the official Latinization scheme of Chinese character pronunciation issued by the People's Republic of China (PRC), which was adopted by the former China Text Reform Commission (now the State Language and Literature Commission) during the text reform of 1955-1957.
