1. Ewenki people have no fixed residence in the forest, and "Cuozi" is their traditional residence. "Cuozi", called "Xi Xie Zhu" in Ewenki language, is a conical building with a height of about 3 meters and a diameter of about 4 meters. It is actually a round hut, consisting of pine poles and a very simple tent.
2. Ewenki people have a long history of raising reindeer. According to legend, a long time ago, their eight ancestors hunted in the mountains, caught six wild deer cubs and brought them back to feed. Over time, they developed into reindeer raised artificially today. According to relevant experts' research, the Ewenki people raised deer as early as before the Han Dynasty. The record of "raising deer for cattle" in Liang Shu refers to the northern people who raised reindeer here. Due to the development of history and the changes of the times, reindeer disappeared among other northern nationalities, but survived among Ewenki hunters.
3. Ewenki people usually bury the dead in alkaline coffins and hold funeral ceremonies. There used to be the custom of tree burial and cremation. The same clan has the same cemetery: filial piety should be attached to their deceased elders and children. And in the Spring Festival, Tomb-Sweeping Day and other days, held grave-sweeping, memorial activities.
4. Ewenki people practice monogamy and exogamy. In the traditional marriage custom, the matchmaker is invited to invite relatives, get engaged, receive bride price and hold a wedding. The wedding styles of Ewenki people vary from place to place, but they all have the contents of seeing off relatives, welcoming relatives, holding wedding banquets and holding song and dance entertainment activities, which has a festive and blessing atmosphere.
5. Ewenki people live entirely on meat, eating Handa meat, venison, bear meat, wild pork, roe deer meat, squirrel meat, flying dragon, pheasant, silky fowl and fish. And its eating method is slightly different from that in pastoral areas, among which the liver and kidney of Handa meat, deer and roe deer are general.
