Huizhou National Intangible Heritage Project

Huizhou is a national historical and cultural city, and now it has added new colors. On May 20th, the People's Government of Guangdong Province announced the eighth batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage representative projects in Guangdong Province. There are five items listed in Huizhou: the legend of Ge Hong, the legend of Su Dongpo, the lion dance (Huidong), the traditional brewing technique of wine (Huizhou glutinous rice wine brewing technique) and the traditional preparation method of Chinese medicine (Luofushan rheumatism plaster making technique). At present, there are 3 national intangible cultural heritage representative projects and 27 provincial intangible cultural heritage representative projects in our city.

Ge hong legend

Ge Hong's legend is a folk legend derived from the historical story of Ge Hong, a Taoist priest and physician in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, who tried to save lives in Luofushan. The legend of Ge Hong originated in Luofu Mountain, and Boluo is the core area of distribution, which is widely spread in Lingnan by word of mouth. The content mainly includes three themes-Ge Hong's taking medicine to make an alchemy, saving the world by hanging a pot, and flying into immortality.

Legend of Su Dongpo

The legend of Su Dongpo is a legendary story about Su Dongpo, a great writer in the Northern Song Dynasty. The legend of Su Dongpo is very popular, especially in Huizhou. Stories circulating in Huizhou can be divided into four categories: one is interesting stories about life, mainly about Su Dongpo and his contacts with family and friends; The second is to care about the people and tell the story of Su Dongpo's consideration for the people and helping them solve problems. The third category is marriage and love, which mainly tells the experiences and stories of Su Dongpo and Yu Ji Wang Chaoyun who met and fell in love in Huizhou. The fourth category is rural scenery, which mainly tells the legendary stories related to Su Dongpo and Huizhou rural scenery, including the formation of scenic spots and historical sites or rural scenery in this area and the relationship with Su Dongpo.
