Mechanical technology major is a new major added by the Ministry of Education according to social needs, with a wide range of employment. Graduates of this major are suitable for scientific research institutions, government agencies, urban construction and other departments to engage in scientific research, teaching, mechanical processing and other aspects.

Graduates are mainly oriented to all kinds of machinery manufacturing enterprises, state-owned enterprises, joint ventures, private enterprises or individuals engaged in processing quality inspection, process implementation and equipment operation and maintenance.

The main positions (groups) of graduates of this major are:

1, a teacher engaged in theoretical teaching and practical teaching of mechanical specialty in secondary and higher vocational schools (mainly secondary vocational schools).

2, machinery industry, enterprises engaged in product design, new product development and technical transformation and innovation of design engineers.

3, the production site engaged in mechanical manufacturing process planning and practice, process equipment design and manufacturing process engineer.

4, CNC machine programming and process programmer's operation.
