"Extension" means throwing rice paper on carved stones or bronzes, wetting it with water, pressing the paper into calligraphy and painting, then splashing ink on the paper, and uncovering it when it is dry. Tobao can be made of sponge (or cotton), plastic bag, silk and rope. Cut the bottom of the sponge into a circle, wrap it in a plastic bag, then wrap it in silk and tie it with a rope. You can also use cotton instead of sponge, both of which are acceptable.

Before laying bricks, the surface of bricks should be cleaned up to better reflect the original appearance of inscriptions on ancient bricks. After the preparatory work is done, the bricks are fixed and the paper can be put on.

Feeding paper means pressing paper on bricks with water. The method we use here is to brush the water with a brush or spray it with a watering can. You can choose your own convenient method. For the choice of rice paper, I think it is better to use paper with more sandalwood skin, so that the ink will not stay on the brick after we extend it, and it will not cause damage to the brick.

After the paper is finished, gently pat it with a brush to make the paper and the inscription stick firmly and minimize the gap between the paper and the brick. If the paper is not typed well in this process, it may move or be unclear when it is unfolded later. When you use a brush, you should use light force to avoid hurting your mouth.

I have to wait after painting. The paper began to ink after 8 minutes of drying. The inking temperature should be controlled well. If the ink is too wet, it will run away. When the paper is completely dry, you will find that the ink won't go up at this time. So it is best to ink the paper when it is dry, usually in seven or eight minutes.

7. When inking, the first pass may be shallow. Don't worry, we can paint it a second time or a third time. In the end, I feel that it is not in place, so I can expand more. When inking, control the ink on the extended package. After the extension bag is stained with ink, the color and concentration of ink can be adjusted on the rice paper that is not used now, and then it can be printed on the paper.

In this way, the whole brick extension is completed, and it is not difficult to make it. Just practice a few more times.
