What is a wireless network?

Wireless network, also known as wireless network, is a kind of network that can realize the interconnection of various communication devices without wiring. Wireless network technology covers a wide range, including global voice and data networks that allow users to establish long-distance wireless connections, and infrared and RF technologies optimized for short-distance wireless connections. Wireless networks are generally combined with telecommunication networks, and nodes can be linked without cables. According to different network coverage, wireless networks can be divided into WWAN (Wireless Wide Area Network), WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network), WMAN (Wireless Metropolitan Area Network) and WPAN (Wireless Personal Area Network).

In addition, wireless network is the product of the combination of computer network and wireless communication technology. It uses radio frequency (RF) technology to replace the old twisted pair to form a local area network, providing all the functions of the traditional wired local area network. Similar to wired networks, they can back up each other. The biggest difference between them lies in the difference of media. Radio technology is used to replace network cables.
