Economic Development of Fengjian Ancient Village
Fengjian ancient village in history has a prosperous economy. As early as the Western Han Dynasty, the thrifty people had reached a fairly high level of agricultural civilization. After the Southern Song Dynasty, Fengjian was a refuge for immigrants from the Central Plains. After the middle of Qing dynasty, due to the developed waterway transportation, sericulture and silk weaving industries flourished, and Fengjian gradually prospered. It reached its peak in the late Qing Dynasty, with a population of tens of thousands, three silk reeling markets, more than 300 looms and more than 500 industrial workers/kloc-0. It is said that the economic prosperity of "Little Guangzhou" has brought about cultural prosperity. There are many scholars and juren in this small village. There used to be a family of eight sons and three academicians, and many people became big officials and made great achievements.
