What are the six elements and seven elements of Buddhism?
Elements
Refers to the six great. Ancient Buddhism will constitute all the elements of the existence of all dharmas, set up into six kinds, known as the six great (containing the meaning of vast). These are: earth (Brahma pr!thivi^
), water (Brahma ap ), fire (Brahma tejas ), wind (Brahma va^yu ), emptiness (Brahma a^ka^s/a ), and knowledge (Brahma vijn~a^na
). Among them, the four great ones of earth, water, fire and wind have the function of forming all things, while the great one of emptiness has the function of making all things that have been formed into emptiness. The earth, water, fire, wind, and emptiness are collectively known as the Color Aggregate (Sanskrit ru^pa
-skandha). These five form only a single existence, but if they are added to the consciousness, they become the existence of sentience (sattva
, the existence of mental action).

Seven Greatnesses
That is to say, the physical nature of all dharmas of color and mind, which can be divided into seven categories: earth, water, fire, wind, air, vision, and knowledge. It is also known as the Seven Great Sexualities. Earth, water, fire, wind called the four great, for the color of the body; plus the empty big for the five big, plus the knowledge of the big for the six
Big. The four great, is the meaning of the pervasive Dharma world. The generation of all laws is not separate from the four major, according to the establishment of the empty, according to see the consciousness, because of the knowledge of knowledge. The first five are non-sentient, and the last two are sentient; however, the seven laws are taken into account. Among them, the earth is great for the firmness of all dharmas, the fire is great for the warmth, the water is great for the wetness, the wind is great for the mobility, the emptiness is great for the unobstructed nature, the vision is great for the awareness, and the knowledge is great for the different nature. The first five are about the six realms, the first five are about the six roots, and the first five are about the six senses, so they are only different from the 18
worlds in terms of opening and closing. These seven are not separate realities, but are the true nature of K???a, which is initiated by the touching of karmas. [The Great Buddha's Dome Shurangama Sutra, Volume 3
