[On the Teaching of Paper Prints] On the Interesting Teaching of Paper Prints

In art education and teaching, students' creativity, innovation ability and comprehensive quality should be cultivated at the same time of cultivating their solid basic skills. Printmaking teaching is the easiest way to cultivate students in art teaching. The key to doing well in printmaking teaching is to do well in three aspects. 1 do a good job in the classroom teaching of printmaking

1) In the classroom teaching of printmaking, students must be guided to learn the basic theories and techniques of printmaking in an all-round way, so that they can master the creative methods of printmaking and create a certain level of printmaking works. Paper printmaking is a kind of printmaking with paper as the plate. It is a unique artistic language formed by cutting, collage and rubbing paper. It is artistic and has wide practicability.

2) Let students know and master the tools and materials of printmaking. Knives mainly use scissors or clip knives, and sometimes it is ok to tear paper by hand in pursuit of special artistic effects. Paper should be made of fiber with good tensile strength and density, such as horse manure paper, white cardboard, coated paper, blow-molded paper, paper boxes, old calendars, etc. The rubbing paper should use thin and tough leather paper, cotton paper, rice paper, etc. Generally, latex is used for the bonding of paper plates, and printmaking ink is used for rubbing. The watermark color can be traditional Chinese painting color, gouache color and water color, and a log or rubber rod is used for rubbing and pressing.

3) the steps of making paper prints.

① engraved paper plate. Instruct the students to draw a sketch on the plane paper, and cut off the unwanted parts with a knife according to the sketch requirements. After the engraving plate is completed, it can be printed with ink, and the master plate in this form is a whole block.

② paperboard pressing. Instruct students to carefully design and draw patterns on thick paper, blow-molded paper, and then use hard instruments to press the wiring board along the pattern on thick paper, blow-molded paper and soft thick paper, and then print ink on the paper board to make prints.

③ collage edition. The layout of the collage version is not a plane, but a relief figure. This form of picture has high and low level changes, which is very suitable for students to learn, think and create. Here are the specific steps.

draft. Give full consideration to drawing patterns on flat paper, and at the same time consider collage and final effect.

cut and carve. According to the picture, cut and carve hard, and pay attention to leave room when cutting and carving, especially the overlapping part.

there are two main methods for collage. One is the butting method, that is, the cut pieces of paper are butted together according to lines and collaged on a plane. This pasting method is often used at the bottom of the layout. The second is the overlapping method, that is, the collage is pasted on 3 ~ 4 layers to show the effect and the object.

layout rubbing. First, put the pasted layout on the desktop, roll ink with glue, from shallow to deep, then cover it with rubbing paper, press the layout and rubbing paper with your fingers, roll it on the surface with a round stick, and take out the rubbing paper to get a paper print.

Through the teaching of the above compulsory courses, students have basically mastered the basic creation of printmaking and can create printmaking. However, in order to create excellent printmaking works, they must spend more time in elective study, extracurricular activities training and educational practice application, so as to truly achieve both creation and application in future educational and teaching activities and social practice.

2 Do a good job in extracurricular activities

Extracurricular activities are an integral part of art teaching and a necessary supplement to classroom teaching. Its content selection focuses on enriching students' art knowledge, developing students' personality and specialty, cultivating students' practical creative ability and improving students' interest in art. Extracurricular activities are organized flexibly and in various forms. The extracurricular activities of paper prints must be carried out in a planned, organized and purposeful way, and through multi-angle and multi-channel skills training and display, students' creative level, appreciation and application ability can be improved.

First of all, organize students to actively participate in the extracurricular activities of paper prints. During the activities, students can communicate with each other, learn from each other's strengths, give full play to their specialties, reflect their individuality, and make progress together to create excellent works.

Secondly, students' excellent works are displayed through activities, which can improve their learning enthusiasm, enhance their sense of innovation and competition, and enhance their sense of honor. At the same time, outstanding works of certain grades are awarded.

finally, collect some excellent print works, especially those with individuality and characteristics, and provide samples for students to visit and study in the future.

3. Practice activities

Practice activities are an integral part of teaching activities and the main way to experience students' art ability. In practice, we provide opportunities for students to apply their learned art knowledge and skills to cultural propaganda, art exhibitions, campus cultural construction, running blackboard newspapers and beautifying the environment, so that students can exercise their studies and display their learning achievements, thus achieving the effect of encouraging students to study hard.

generally speaking, through the above three aspects of printmaking teaching activities, while guiding students to learn printmaking, organizing students to apply what they have learned and mastered skills to extracurricular activities and social practice will effectively improve the quality of printmaking education and teaching, so that students' comprehensive quality will be comprehensively improved.
