Drawing tattoo manuscript basic skills training
Training Step 1. Muscle Memory: Observe an irregular line, then close your eyes and try to blindly draw the line on the paper. At this point, all you can rely on is muscle memory, the sense of touch coming from the tip of the brush and the speed, and by relying on these, you can reproduce the line perfectly.
Training Step 2. Similar Shape: When copying or sketching, the line on the paper is a similar shape to the corresponding line on the drawing object. Similar shapes of straight lines are easy for people to master, while similar shapes of curves are challenging. It requires a lot of practice.
Training Step 3. Spatial Relationships: A picture often has a lot of characteristic points, such as A is on the upper right of B, C is directly below D. The selected characteristic points form a spatial relationship with each other. If you only pay attention to one or two characteristic points, drawing precise lines will be difficult, you have to grasp the relationship between the line direction and the point, the relative position and proximity, distance is difficult to grasp. If you pay attention to several feature points at the same time, and pay attention to the relationship between the line and these five feature points, then the difficulty of drawing will be greatly reduced.
Training Step 3. Projection: Projecting the perceptual object onto blank drawing paper, seeing the result before the drawing is done, and letting the brain guide the brush rather than letting the brush lose control. This exercise is difficult, especially on completely blank paper, even if the pattern in the brain is already incredibly clear, but it is difficult to determine where to start and where to drop the brush on completely blank paper.
Training steps several ways to draw:
1 Objects -----> lines (non-blind drawing) method is to draw a similar shape of the characteristic lines on the object.
2 Perceptual Objects -----> Lines (non-blind drawing) method is projection
3 Objects -----> Lines (blind drawing) method is to focus your awareness on the characteristic lines of an object, and use your muscle memory to draw on the paper as if you were tracing the object.
4 Perceptual objects ------>lines (Blind drawing method is muscle memory, focusing awareness on that clearly recognizable perceptual object in the brain and using muscle memory to draw it on the paper. When drawing, the above methods are usually mixed and constantly switched.
The importance of decomposition practice: a complex and coherent action, to master it quickly, the method is to decomposition practice, decomposition practice on neural network learning means that each time only give a few variables of a learning goal, the neural network learning will be greatly accelerated, and correct, whereas if a one-time give a complex goal, the learning time will be exponentially increased, and there is the possibility of the formation of false weights. The same is true when it comes to drawing exercises. Few of the existing basic textbooks I've seen explore this area in any depth, and the one I currently have on hand, "The Trick of Sketching," dabbles in this area, such as the importance of observation and methods of observation. I'm also inspired by this, plus a little skinny on the laws of perception, to be able to write about these feelings and methods.
Objectives of the exercise: 1. To be able to form a perceptual object for drawing as quickly as possible, which should also include muscle memory, that is, the instructions for controlling the muscles when drawing. This can be likened to translating a visualization of an object into a set of control commands.
2 The ability to make quick sketches that capture key features
3 The ability to process the perceptual object of the drawing in the brain, performing a variety of processes, such as exaggerating, distorting, remodeling, discarding details, altering strokes and styles.
Exercises:
1 Draw a shape on one sheet of paper, then trace it on another, overlap the two sheets to check, start with the simplest triangles, quadrilaterals.
2 Draw an imaginary closed shape with your eyes closed, then see if it's the same, then look at the starting point, and the end point to see if they overlap.
3 Cut out the shape of an object from a thick piece of paper, then close your eyes and go over the edges with your pen to feel the curves of the lines and the sensations when drawing.
4 Projecting exercise. Place the photo to be drawn behind the paper, you can see the blurred shape, rely on the imagination to strengthen the feeling, and then finally remove the back of the photo, and then draw the line, and then compare whether it can be accurately overlap.
5 To form certain fixed gestures, such as short horizontal lines, small curves, diagonal shadows, cross-shadows, curling pinstripes, and so on, and to learn to distort these gestures and fit them into a certain fixed space to draw them.
6 Observation. Adopt the perception of drawing every moment to observe the various objects and figures around you. This requires concentration, and once you reach a certain level, you can draw from memory alone, instead of drawing from a still life or a model, you can also draw objects and figures in motion.
PrecautionsThe above decomposition exercise can be used to achieve the goal of the first stage as quickly as possible, which is to have a deep grasp of the spatial relationship of objects, areas, lines, and points, and to be able to faithfully reproduce the imagery in your mind, as well as to be able to process the perceptual objects in your mind in a very clear way.
