Why do traditional Chinese clothes always cross right?

The cross Lord of Hanfu is mainly for the warmth and health of the package. The cross collar can wrap the neck and body more tightly, and the quilt can be deep. From an aesthetic point of view, it will look dignified. The right leg is suitable for China's traditional theory of Yin and Yang. The left hand is on the top, the right hand is on the bottom, and the left hand is tied to the right, that is, the right leg, which means that Yang is above Yin.

Of course, in addition to the cross collar, the collar types of Hanfu also include: double-breasted straight collar (this kind of clothes can also be worn as a shallow cross collar effect), round neck (also known as "disc collar"), square collar, vertical collar and so on. In some special dynasties, under the influence of foreign culture, Zuo Zhou also appeared, but the proportion was very small.

Hanfu usually ties clothes with belts, not buttons. Because linear objects are more adjustable than point objects, which is more in line with China's fuzzy philosophy. Hanfu also has buckles and metal buckles. But from the perspective of cultural relics, it is far less common than lace.

The sleeves of hanfu dresses are generally wide and long, like the wings spread when birds fly. Ancient literati also had a walking posture in solemn ceremonial occasions, which was called "Xiang". This kind of big sleeves with wide walking posture flutters with the wind, like birds flying.
