In this season, freshwater shrimps usually live near piers, sluices, rock walls of dams, crevices of stone piles, the bottom of tree roots by rivers, and the roots of aquatic plants and grasses. Generally, it is a place where the overall water flow speed is relatively fast, but the water flow is blocked. Such a place is rich in dissolved oxygen and food because of the current, and it is not far from the inshore fishing point, not more than 2~3 meters at most, as long as you use a hook with a big hook.

In the traditional folk fishing methods, there are shrimp cages, fishing nets and natural fishing rods. According to the density and water quality conditions of freshwater shrimp, choose the most suitable fishing method. Then, how to use these fishing methods respectively and how to prepare them?

Fishing method-traditional shrimp cage fishing method

In the past, shrimp cage fishing was a fishing method that paid more attention to craftsmanship and eyesight. Two round cages are woven with bamboo sticks. The two cages are almost the same in diameter, one is shorter and the other is longer. The finished shrimp cage is similar to an upright water bottle. When knitting, leave the bamboo stick with inverted whiskers, then connect the two round cages, put the chopped internal organs in the shrimp cage and tie the other end.

Shrimp eats fishy animal viscera, the fresher the better. You can also use fishy sheep bones as bait in shrimp cages. Shrimp comes in from the entrance at the bottom of the shrimp cage, because there are lodging whiskers in the shrimp cage, and it is not easy to come out after drilling in. Generally, it takes 0.5~ 1 hour to fish out and dump, and the receipt is still very good. There are also fishermen who put 2~3 shrimp cages before going to bed, sleep until dawn, and then open the shrimp cages. Small fish and shrimp can harvest more than ten kilograms.

Fishing method 2: make shrimp bags with fishing nets.

Due to the development of modern technology, this method has been rarely used. I used to look for an old fishing net. The mesh was small and too big, so shrimp could crawl in and out freely, which didn't help. Fishing nets with mesh number of 1x 1 cm are generally used. This size is just enough to catch big fish and small fish. The specific method is to trim a square net and then tie it diagonally. You can first tie two bamboo pieces to the two diagonal corners, thus forming a net bag.

Hang heavy objects at the four corners of the back net bag, and then wrap the bait ball mixed with viscera, bran and flour with gauze. The bait balls are bigger and put 3-5 bait balls. Then use hemp rope to connect the bamboo pieces tied with the net bag with the bamboo pole 2-3 meters long, use the bamboo pole to pick the net bag and slowly sink it to the bottom, then put the bamboo pole on the shore and press a heavy object every 3-3 meters.

Relying on modern technology, the quadrilateral, hexagonal, octagonal and decagon shrimp nets made by machines are also good tools for catching shrimp now. The net cloth with fine mesh is similar to the rice cover we use to prevent mosquitoes. There are several fish holes woven in the net, so that shrimps, crabs and small fish can go in and out. In the past, this shrimp net was hand-woven, and later nylon technology was developed.

Fishing with four soft poles

In the past, this fishing method was mostly used in the waters where shrimp infested. Later, many artificial shrimp ponds also used this fishing method to attract business. In the past, bamboo poles were used, the length was about 1~3 meters, and the fishing line was as long as or slightly shorter than the pole. First, make a nest. The commonly used nest material is chopped animal offal. The bait can be hooked with diced viscera or fresh frog meat, and the effect is very outstanding.

You can catch shrimp with or without floats, but you must throw the bait hook to the fishing point with a soft rod, and then gently lift it up and down, not too big. 10~ 15 seconds for the last time. Shrimp will slowly drag the hook out after biting it, and you can feel it with a soft pole. If the pole is harder, this feeling will be gone. If you use float, there will be no obvious change after the shrimp is hooked. Shrimp can drag the float, but not very much. If the float starts to move and there is a drag rod, then gently lift the rod, probably the hook in the shrimp.

Finally, catching shrimps in the wild is fun, but the environment where green shrimps grow is mostly in sapropelic mud. In such waters, parasites such as leeches usually appear, and inexperienced fishermen are easily caught carelessly, so they must protect themselves. Generally speaking, shrimp fishing is easier than fishing. In fishing skills and basic skills, the requirements are not high. Moreover, shrimp has a wide range of recipes, from animal viscera, such as liver, lungs and intestines, to bran and dough. They are a model of not being picky about food.
