Unity of knowledge and action is the core of traditional education in China. We often say that knowledge and action are one, and actions speak louder than words. But these are just words, which have not been translated into practical actions and guidelines for our study, life and work. But to be honest, this article is the focus of China culture, and it is also the focus of China education and culture. There is a saying in The Doctrine of the Mean: "A gentleman gives up halfway with the Tao, and I will certainly do it." The simple meaning is: some people understand the truth and follow it, but they give up halfway because of their great strength, but I (Confucius) will not stop there.
When it comes to composition, some mothers say: I understand everything, but it's so difficult to do it! This is a problem. In life and work, you will also encounter such a problem: you understand the truth, but you just don't do it. Even if you do, you will give up halfway. If a person wants to make a difference, he must first understand and recognize it ideologically and consciously. Ideological and conscious understanding is only the beginning. Without action, ideological and conscious understanding is only a little knowledge or understanding. As the saying goes: know without doing it, especially when you don't know.
In the Analects of Confucius, Confucius once admitted that he had made mistakes in understanding people. He said that when he first visited people, he listened to them and believed in their actions. From the perspective of the unity of knowledge and action, the story of "a fool moves mountains" shows that the stupidity of a fool lies in moving mountains rather than moving. Wisdom of Zhisou-Zhizai does have reason to think that such a move of mountains is stupid. On the other hand, the final conclusion proves that fools are not stupid, but not wise. That's because Yugong is smart and smart, and the stupidity of the wise Yugong is manifested in his bright head and slippery mouth, but he has no action. Therefore, don't just stay on the wisdom of thought and consciousness, and don't just stay on the knowledge of mouth. We should turn the wisdom and knowledge of thought, consciousness and mouth into the wisdom of action. This is what smart people do.
Unity of knowledge and action is the focus of education in China. In the past, this idea needed to be studied by the ancients. For example, in the first chapter of The Amethyst, people say that they don't learn and don't know justice. Teachers or peers, please cherish them. In this chapter, I didn't talk about how to know a certain number or an article at first. "People don't learn but don't know righteousness" is about the purpose of learning-knowing righteousness. On the basis of "getting close to teachers and friends and learning etiquette", we can know a certain number, recognize a certain article and talk about the unity of knowledge and action. Education that knows but does not act is abnormal education. Just turn the knowledge around in your mind and show it between your eyebrows-when your eyebrows wrinkle, you will suffer. To put it more seriously, it is bad luck. Therefore, Confucius said in The Doctrine of the Mean that there is nothing I can do if a gentleman follows the Tao and gives up halfway. I won't be such a person. Don't say I can't just know, but I know everything. A person's success must be done. This truth is very simple, but because we lack the influence on traditional culture, how many people can know it, and how many people can know it by talking every day and shouting every month? Unity of knowledge and action, the seed of this concept, must be planted in children's hearts from an early age. Now some well-known things are popular on the Internet. They are playing with knowledge, numbers, concepts and science, and they belong to listening to their words. For the sake of thread, for the people's psychological endurance and for the people's psychological concern-"thread", they are simply idiots. Fundamentally speaking, these people are all "knowledge" education, while "action" education is almost blank. It's just that in the Three Kingdoms period, they were articulate and polite, but in fact, they had no social common sense, moral common sense and ethical common sense. Therefore, from the root, it is necessary to really let children have the consciousness of unity of knowledge and action, and actions speak louder than words.
