Analysis of three modes of router load balancing

Load balancing? This concept applies to the network. Simply put, it is to use multiple network equipment channels to share traffic equally. Load balancing can use multiple network devices to work at the same time to accelerate the processing capacity of network information, and then optimize the performance of network devices, replacing the fate that devices must be continuously upgraded or eliminated. The following is my knowledge about three modes of router load balancing, welcome to read!

Xiannuo Technology, which was the first to put forward the concept of multi-WAN, quickly added the function of load balancing on the basis of multi-WAN. ? Shannon load balancing? According to the type of access operators, it can be divided into two types. The first is that when accessing multiple lines of the same operator, intelligent load balancing and designated routing mode can be adopted to balance the loads of multiple lines and avoid the disadvantages of single line congestion. The second is that when accessing different carrier lines, the application packet traffic belonging to different carrier lines can be clearly diverted, which effectively reduces the cross-network threshold and achieves the purpose of accelerating information access.

According to statistics from its technical forum, Sinotech recently found that many users posted questions and wanted to know how to further set the best load balancing mode after accessing multiple lines. Wen, director of SINO Technology Shenzhen Technology Center, introduced that the three different load balancing modes proposed at present can comprehensively include the measures that should be taken under various network architectures. These three modes are:

Mode 1: Intelligent Load Balancing

Intelligent load balancing mode is to automatically complete the load balancing work according to the bandwidth ratio of accessing WAN, and further help to achieve the purpose of optimizing bandwidth utilization. In the intelligent load balancing mode, Qno provides two options: online number balancing and IP balancing.

Balancing the number of networked computers is to allocate all networked computers in the intranet in a balanced way according to the bandwidth ratio of the WAN. For example, if WAN 1 accesses 4M and WAN2 accesses 2M, the number of connections will be allocated according to 2: 1. This configuration is the most commonly used configuration mode for network administrators.

IP balance mode is to avoid the bottleneck that some websites (such as bank websites or HTTPS websites) can only accept packets sent from the same public IP. If the connection load balancing mode is adopted, the access packets sent by IP may not necessarily flow out of the fixed WAN port, which will lead to the denial of service of a specific website and the disconnection of the network. If IP balance is adopted, IP is allocated in proportion to the bandwidth of the WAN. For example, if the bandwidth ratio of WAN 1 and WAN2 is 2: 1, then the application services published by the same intranet PC can be realized if PC 1, PC2 takes WAN 1, PC3 takes WAN2, and PC4 and PC5 take WAN 1. This configuration is more suitable for choosing when you often need to enter a specific website.

Mode 2: Specify the route.

Compared with intelligent load balancing, designated routing retains more flexibility and exception principle. Because the purpose of intelligent load balancing is to balance the number of connections in the whole intranet or the whole IP. You cannot specify an application service, a specific IP, a specific website, and which WAN port to go out through. Therefore, some services (such as e-mail, VOIP, etc.) are sometimes inconvenient. ) or some people (company bosses, executives, etc.). ) cannot enjoy priority or exception.

So specifying a route is to provide a binding that can cooperate with the protocol. First, specify which application service, which IP segment, which destination address and which WAN port to use. Then, the remaining unbound parts will be intelligently load balanced, and there are two options: protocol binding mode or IP balancing mode.

Mode 3: Policy Routing

Because there is a cross-network bottleneck that telecom and Netcom are not interconnected in Chinese mainland. If a company accesses the telecom netcom line at the same time, it will sometimes be obvious that the services (such as game downloading and other applications) provided by the telecom access netcom are very slow, which is the problem caused by the difficulty of server exchange visits.

The strategic routing setup specially proposed by SINO Technology allows more than two interconnected ISP lines to be diverted, so that the telecom business can take the telecom business and the Netcom business can take the Netcom business, which can speed up the service access and greatly reduce the cross-network bottleneck. Qno adopts the built-in full netcom strategy mode in product interface design, which can quickly set which WAN ports are dedicated to full netcom. If there are other ISP lines that need to be strategically routed, you can also adopt a custom policy mode.

Strategic routing is not only widely used in the distribution of telecom netcom, but also in the dual-network configuration framework of multinational enterprises, campus network lines, public networks, medical insurance lines and general networks, which is helpful to integrate and accelerate the service quality of dual networks.

It is emphasized that through the load balancing mode of routers, the network congestion problem can be solved to some extent, the response time of intranet servers can be improved, and the utilization efficiency of network resources can be improved, thus providing better network interconnection quality for broadband network users. Through the above introduction, users can choose the most suitable load balancing mode according to their own situation.
