A passage describing the old man carving wood.

The passage describing the carving of wood by the elderly is as follows:

Twenty years ago, grandpa suddenly fell in love with woodcarving for some reason. Perhaps he was shocked by the woodcarving of a shop in the flower and bird market, perhaps influenced by his good friend, or perhaps he wanted to find a spiritual sustenance.

Ever since Grandpa became fascinated with wood carving, those toolboxes have been filled with chisels, planers, drills and saws. The yard is not empty either. Oak, camphor, jujube and all kinds of wood are piled in a yard. Grandma thinks these things are too in the way and affect walking. She had a temper with grandpa, had a temper, had a fierce argument, and even hid grandpa's baby. But grandpa used to be a stubborn temper, fighting with grandma, and finally the other party chose to compromise.

At first, grandpa knew nothing. Although he tried to draw a gourd ladle, in the end, all the things he carved were crooked and had no aesthetic feeling at all. Sometimes he cuts his hand and leaves another scar, but grandpa is still not discouraged and keeps carving. He asked for advice from others, gradually became better and better, and began to try to carve some complicated things.

Grandpa likes cranes best, so he focuses on them, carving one after another, some independent, some eloquent, some bright wings, some volley ... lifelike.

I remember one time, after I finished practicing Chinese calligraphy, I threw away my writing brush. Grandpa carved a pen container for me, with cranes as the basic shape, superimposed some patterns, and polished it with sandpaper several times after carving. Several beams on the crane neck have become the best destination for writing brushes. This pen container full of grandpa's painstaking efforts is also my favorite!

But now grandpa has a lymphoma in his brain, which is particularly easy to recur. He also has a pacemaker in his heart. His health is not as good as before. He can no longer play with carving knives, but can only enjoy other people's works in videos. He often tells us to take good care of his baby. Needless to say, I clean grandpa's works every week when I go home, which is serious and sincere.
