How to punch holes in sheet metal in proe

Notching and punching are machining operations performed using the following three-stage process:

1. Create the desired notch type on the sheet metal part.

2. Convert the notch to a user-defined feature (UDF). This UDF is saved in your catalog and can be included in multiple designs. The file extension is .gph.

3. Place a notch or punch in the desired sheet metal part.

Reference parts can be created to assist in placing notches or punches in the UDF. usually keep the reference parts simple. The file extension of the reference part is: gp.prt. Remember that the UDF should be created in the Sheet Metal Part mode, as UDFs created in the Part mode will not work in the sheet metal part.
