Appreciation of Li Bai's Farewell

Appreciate:

This is a farewell poem. The author uses snow as a metaphor for pear blossoms, hoping that his deep affection will be like pear blossoms in spring. The author's reluctant farewell to his friends reflects his heroic and open-minded wishes to his friends.

The first couplet, "Drinking at the edge of Weicheng, Drunk and Sleepless", describes the farewell place and the lively scene of the farewell banquet. The poet begins with the destination of the person who was sent away and makes a statement. Li Bai was as drunk as a fiddler at the farewell party, which was a reflection of Li Bai's reluctance to his friends and his character.

The antithetical couplet "Pear blossoms bring thousands of trees and snow, poplar leaves bring thousands of cigarettes" is a rhetorical device of metaphor. Pears are like snow, thousands of pears are competing to open, and willow leaves are swaying in the wind. However, this beautiful spring scenery contains a feeling of reluctance to friends who are about to travel, "setting off sadness with music scenes", but the beautiful spring scenery is not accompanied to enjoy.

The sentence "farewell pot, farewell whip" in the neck couplet is the theme of the whole poem, which clearly explains the purpose of the banquet-farewell friends. At the farewell party, the poet "poured a pot" and sent his disappointment with his friends to the wine and drank it off. It's really time to say goodbye, and "give a whip at once" as a souvenir. Although I can't bear it, I still pretend to be heroic.

At the end of the couplet, it says, "Look at it evenly, and the new moon should be round". The poet wrote about the scenery of the destination and imagined it. Because of the scenery, feelings are bound by the scenery. When a friend arrives at his destination, it should be the full moon. From lack to roundness, the poet entrusted his feelings of parting.

Li Bai's farewell original:?

Drinking at the edge of Weicheng, you are drunk and sleepless. Pear blossoms with snow, poplar leaves with ten thousand cigarettes.

Farewell to the pot, a whip when parting. Look, it should all go up. The new moon should be round.

Translation:

On the edge of the acropolis, we said goodbye to each other and were too drunk to sleep in the restaurant. Pears are white as snow, and thousands of poplar leaves are like plumes of smoke. We drank all the wine in the pot when we said goodbye. When parting, send a whip on horseback. I expect you to come to Yingshang, when the new moon should be round.

Extended data

Li Bai has traveled all over the world all his life, and his whereabouts are uncertain. The extraordinary ups and downs have given him the opportunity to widely contact all levels of social life. He met too many celebrities, chivalrous men and ordinary people, and reluctantly bid farewell to countless old friends, relatives and friends. Almost every encounter is a legend, and every farewell is a swan song.

Li Bai's ideal world and emotional world are extremely contradictory and complicated, integrating Confucianism and Taoism. On the one hand, he advocated Confucian orthodoxy, on the other hand, he declared that "I am a madman in Chu and sang a crazy song about arguing about Confucius". On the one hand, he is cynical and wants to live in seclusion in the mountains and return to nature; On the other hand, he respects martial arts and despises Confucianism, ignores details, is generous with money, and makes great efforts to make people angry. There is a great momentum of "a long sword and a glass of wine, and a man has a heart".

Therefore, his philosophy of life has both transcendental negative factors and lofty sentiments of "helping the world and achieving the goal". This complicated outlook on life is also reflected in his farewell poems.

1, Zhuangbie

Poets are generous, generous and elegant, unlike sentimental people. Therefore, although they are full of feelings and regard their friends as relatives, they will never "touch the children with towels" when they leave, but they can only give people high-spirited encouragement. For example, the poem "Seeing Friends Off at Jingmen Ferry" is another masterpiece of Zhuang. The whole poem begins with a long journey and ends with a farewell to the scenery seen on the way. These farewell poems are based on the scenery, bold and unrestrained in the farewell, and affectionate in the farewell.

Step 2 get drunk

Li Taibai is an alcoholic, and only the moon is his love. But he is not the kind of passive WTO participant who just wants to be drunk for a long time and doesn't want to wake up, and he has no motivation to get drunk and solve thousands of worries. He insists that everyone has his own life, his fate is hard to violate, he must be open-minded and not sad, and he knows and returns with sadness. Although we drown them well with the philosophy of wine, wine and the moon naturally become symbols of his character, which can be confirmed in his farewell poems.

Step 3 say goodbye

Li Taibai traveled all his life and had many friends. He met dignitaries, relatives and friends, villagers in the mountains, hermits, and even Huang Mao, and both gathered and sang. Almost all the gatherings make the poet very happy, and I can't bear to part with him every time I say goodbye.
