Representative works of pipa

Traditional pipa music can be divided into Wu Qu, Wen Qu and Wu Wen music.

Wu Qu emphasized the playing skill and strength of the right hand. Grand style, generous and ambitious. Music is narrative-oriented, realistic narrative, often continuous description according to the development of content and plot, with huge structure, vivid and vivid paragraphs. Representative tracks include House of Flying Daggers, Overlord Dismantling, The Swan in Christina, The Legend of Han You, etc.

Wen Qu pays attention to the expression of left-handed skills, which is delicate, light, elegant and lyrical. It is mainly lyrical and full of generality and confidence. Often with simple and moving melody or beautiful and fresh timbre, it expresses a profound inner talk or a desirable artistic conception. Representative repertoires include the flute and drum in the sunset, Zhao Jun's departure from the fortress, Autumn Moon in the Han Palace, Fish High, Qinglian Yuefu, and the song on the fortress, etc.

Military-civilian music is a combination of Wen Qu and Wu Qu, and its representative tracks include Spring Snow, Mountain Flowing Water, Dragon Boat, Sunset Flute and Drum, Xu Lai and so on. Pipa music is classified as representative works, such as Sunset Flute and Drum, Fish High, Autumn Moon in the Han Palace, Saiqu, Qinglian Yuefu, Flying Flowers and Food, etc., as well as Flying over the eaves, Farewell My Concubine, Swan in the Sea, Legend of Han Ni and Legend of Man Ni. Yi dance and other transplanted songs, such as Wild Bee Dance, Turkish March, Quartet Dance, Sun in My Hometown, Spring Dance, Hora Dance, Variations on Moonlight, and other new songs, such as Moonlit Riverside, Su, Swan, Chunyu and Chen Xingyuan and Fan.
