Construction robots are "half the sky" of construction sites, see how Bozhilin reshapes the construction industry

The fourth industrial revolution is affecting the world's economy and industry, and it's a far-reaching change that is transforming manufacturing with intelligence. For traditional industries, artificial intelligence brings a qualitative leap, and this is the case for the construction industry. The traditional construction industry has a large number of heavy and dangerous manual work, both wasteful of costs and resources, in recent years the rise of construction robots are changing this mode of production.

At present, construction robots have not been applied on a large scale globally, and BGI is one of the few companies in the world that has systematically invested in the research and development of robots on a large scale, with the advantage of relying on the rich experimental scenarios and needs of BGI. Bozhilin now has 46 models of construction robots in research and development, and has formed 12 construction robot product lines such as concrete construction, concrete repair and interior wall decoration. It covers most of the construction processes.

Here's a look at what innovations Bozhilin's construction robots have brought to the traditional construction industry:

Safer operations

Traditional construction in the building industry requires workers to work at height, and in addition to safety issues, they also have to deal with the pollution of paint dust. As a result, young people are increasingly reluctant to engage in this work, and the aging of workers in the industry is increasing.

The first thing that construction robots address is safety. Bozhilin construction robots can work autonomously to complete physically demanding or dangerous construction processes, thus increasing the safety of workers' operations. Take the winch-type exterior latex paint spraying robot as an example, through the autonomous path planning, it can realize the fully automatic, omni-directional spraying of the building exterior painting.

Compared to traditional manual construction, it fundamentally eliminates the safety risks of workers working at height, and has more stable construction quality and higher construction efficiency.

Construction is more efficient

Traditional building construction manual work is less efficient and less accurate. BZL robots are more efficient than manual labor, mainly in terms of saving time and labor. In the highly intelligent operation of multi-machine collaboration, Bozhilin's construction robot combination of division of labor, each in its own way, closely cooperate, and quickly and well complete the construction operation, which can be called a construction textbook!

For example, the intelligent follow-me fabricator and the ground leveling robot work together to accurately fabricate and level in an orderly manner, which is a very "pleasant" cooperation. The combination of the concrete ceiling grinding robot and the concrete interior wall grinding robot integrates the two processes into one set of procedures, saving time and labor. Two floor paint coating robot composed of the "two-person team", line up in formation, and drive side by side.

Through the linkage construction, the entire concrete construction team can be reduced from the traditional 12 to 8 people. Quality due to the stability of the machine operation and error, compared with the artificial quality is also a big improvement, such as measuring robot, according to the engineering application test efficiency for artificial more than 2.5 times, the measurement accuracy of 1mm, operational efficiency and measurement accuracy is better than manual.

Additionally, BQL robots can reduce the waste of construction materials, reduce industrial pollution and carbon emissions, and effectively utilize construction waste.

Batch application to promote the experience

Technology is often beautiful, but to commercialize the technology, there are many factors to consider, such as manufacturing costs, market demand, test scenarios and so on.

So it is especially important to move construction robotics from the lab to the construction site for batch application. At present, the only domestic pilot project that actually applies construction robots in bulk to the engineering construction process is Fengtong Garden in Shunde, Foshan.

The project is also a test bed for the bulk application of Bozhilin's construction robots, carrying out a number of pilots for the application of construction robots, including the first completion of the demonstration area for robots to participate in construction, the first time to establish a robot scheduling center, and the first time to run through the repair class of robots in the multi-robot joint construction mode.

On July 28, 2021, Fengtong Garden Project's "measuring robots and intelligent measuring tools" and "construction robots and intelligent engineering machinery and equipment" were selected as one of the first batch of the Ministry of Construction's list of replicable practices for the development of intelligent construction in collaboration with the new type of industrialization of construction. The first two are the first batch of intelligent construction and new construction industrialization synergistic development list of the Ministry of Housing and Construction.

At present, Bozhilin has 18 models of construction robots put into commercial application, the service covers nearly 120 projects in 18 provinces, with a cumulative delivery of nearly 600 units and a cumulative application of construction of more than 4.5 million square meters, in addition to 46 models of robots in research and development. Bozhilin is the first company in the world to try to use robots to complete most of the processes of building construction on a large scale and systematically, leading the industry in technological innovation.

The wave of intelligence is irreversible, and there is still a long way to go for construction robots, as there is no mature experience to learn from, and every step needs to be explored and pioneered. The construction robot companies represented by Bo Zhilin are accumulating experience and drawing the blueprint for the development of the industry. I believe that in the near future, construction robots will be used on a larger scale to help the construction industry take off.
