Huashan Festival is a traditional Miao festival. Also known as Caishanping, Caihuashan and Tiaohuashan. Popular in western Guizhou, southern Sichuan and southeastern Yunnan. This is a grand festival. Festivals vary from place to place, some in the first month of the lunar calendar, and some in May or July. The travel time can reach more than 10 days, and many squares in Huashan continue to carry out activities. There are 2 flower farms in Anshun, Guizhou, and 6 to 8 in Zhenning, from the second day of the first month to the fourteenth.

Festival content

During the festival, the Miao people gathered in the traditional Tiaochang Ping in costumes for various cultural and entertainment celebrations. Huashan Festival is often attended by Miao people from neighboring provinces and counties, and has become a grand event for tens of thousands of people.

Young men and women danced around the flower pole erected in the center of the jumping field, and young men also competed in pole climbing, horse racing, bullfighting and archery. Huashan Festival is also a day for Miao young men and women to make complicated friends. Once two people fall in love, the man will wrap his feet with flowers and give them to the woman with a flower waist seal, while the woman will give them back with hand-embroidered handkerchiefs and Baotou.
