What is the story of Panlongzhu in Jinci Park, Taiyuan?
Panlongzhu
There are eight woodcarving panlong pillars on the front eaves of Notre Dame Hall. Panlong claws are very powerful, can be coiled freely, and are beautifully made. During the Sui and Tang Dynasties, the panlong column system was often seen on the leaning columns of statues, shrines and stone pagodas, and the wooden panlong column in Notre Dame Hall was the earliest existing panlong column in China.
