What are the common processing methods in mechanical manufacturing?
Tube machine tools, whether large or small, simple or complex, can be divided into five categories, which are the five basic methods of metal forming. There are five machining methods: drilling, turning and boring, milling, grinding and bullhead planing. The characteristics of these treatment methods are as follows:
1, drilling
Drilling is the process of drilling holes in solid metal. Use a rotary drill called a twist drill. The machine tool used to drill holes is called a drilling machine. There are also many models and specifications of drilling machines. In addition to drilling holes, drilling machines can also carry out other processing. When drilling, the workpiece is positioned, clamped and fixed; The drill bit drills into the workpiece while rotating.
2, turning and boring
Ordinary machine tools are the most commonly used machine tools for turning workpieces. Turning is the process of cutting metal from a workpiece. When the workpiece rotates, the cutter cuts into or rotates along the workpiece.
Drilling is a processing method to enlarge or further process drilling or casting holes on metal workpieces. Drilling holes on a lathe is accomplished by rotating a single-edged tool while feeding the workpiece.
Step 3 grind
Milling is the process of cutting metal with a rotary cutter, which has multiple cutting edges and is called a milling cutter.
4. endless
Grinding is a processing method to remove metal with grinding wheel. Grinding is used to finish the workpiece, and the machined workpiece has accurate size and smooth surface. When grinding a circular workpiece, the workpiece rotates and feeds to the rotating grinding wheel. When grinding a plane workpiece, the workpiece moves back and forth under the rotating grinding wheel. Grinding technology is often used to finish the hard workpiece after heat treatment, so that it can reach the accurate size.
5, tauren planing
Planers, planers and slotting machines all use single-edged tools to make accurate planes. You should know the difference between shaper, planer and slotting machine. When machining with gear shaper, the workpiece is fed to the cutter, and the cutter moves back and forth on the workpiece. When machining with a planer, the cutter cuts into the workpiece or feeds it, and the workpiece moves back and forth under the cutter.
The slotting process is similar to the flat planing process. The slotting machine is actually a vertical shaper, but its cutter moves up and down. In the process of slotting, the workpiece (such as a tool) moves excessively, sometimes in a straight line and sometimes in an arc, depending on the type of workpiece to be machined. Gear shaper is a vertical gear shaper, which is mainly used for cutting some types of gears.
Broaching machines can be classified as planers. Broach has a plurality of cutter teeth. Broaching machine can be used for internal processing, such as square hole processing, or external processing, plane processing or specific shape processing.
