What is bright copper?

The copper content is above 99.95%

Bright copper refers to a kind of copper with copper content above 99.95%, which is red and bright after electroplating from electroplating solution. Its essence is still copper, but people divide copper into red copper, red copper, brass and white copper electroplating according to the difference of copper content and production technology. Bright copper is copper with the highest copper content, such as cable copper and motor copper without impurities. It is the best copper material after melting and polishing in copper factory, and can be directly used for wire drawing.

In the past, the copper coating obtained by electroplating solution in industry was dark, but not bright. With the development of electroplating technology, adding some additives to the common copper plating solution can directly obtain a very bright copper plating layer, which is called bright copper. The term bright electroplating is the electroplating that directly obtains bright coating from plating bath under appropriate conditions.

Since 1990s, the wire and cable industry in China has developed rapidly, and the demand for copper rods has increased sharply. According to the statistics of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Information Center, 1999, the actual output of round copper rods in China was only 400,000 tons, while the consumption was about 650,000 tons. Most of the gap is imported from abroad. In addition, with the rapid development of special-purpose wires and cables such as electromagnetic wires and communication cables, and the appearance of multi-wire and multi-mode high-speed wire drawing machines, higher and higher requirements are put forward for copper bars. Copper rods produced from small-sized blanks can't meet the requirements more and more, so at the end of the 20th century, several continuous casting and rolling production lines were introduced or relocated in China.

These production lines have the characteristics of high equipment level, large production scale, low energy consumption, continuous process, high degree of computer monitoring, excellent and stable product quality and so on. , representing the advanced production technology of "SCR" and "Contirod" bright copper rods in the world today.

At the same time, imported SpectroLabS multi-channel spectrum analyzer, on-line eddy current flaw detector and other equipment provide faster and more accurate detection means to ensure the production of high-quality low-oxygen bright copper bars. They won the market with advanced technology and equipment, high production efficiency, low energy consumption and excellent product quality, and achieved remarkable economic benefits. Their products not only meet the domestic market, but also are exported to all parts of the world.

At present, the total processing capacity of copper rods in China has reached 2.8-3 million tons, which is about three times the demand. For the existing production line, improving equipment utilization rate, improving product quality and reducing production cost are the fundamental guarantee to gain a favorable position in the competition.

Domestic continuous casting and rolling production equipment Since the first copper rod continuous casting and rolling production line designed and manufactured in China was completed in 1980s, more than 10 domestic copper continuous casting and rolling production lines with an annual output of tens of thousands of tons have been put on the market. The equipment investment of these production lines is less, and the production cost is greatly reduced.

Among them, the traditional hot rolling process for producing black copper rod has a history of 100 years in the world. In 1970s, developed countries in the world successively developed bright copper rod continuous casting and rolling production lines, such as SCR method, properzi method, Contirod method, Secor method, Dip method and upward drawing method, which greatly changed the world copper rod production.

copper

Copper, English name: copper, element symbol is Cu, atomic number 29 in the periodic table of elements, atomic weight 63.546, belonging to IB group metal. The density is 8.92g/cm _, the melting point is1083.4 0.2℃ and the boiling point is 2567℃. Copper is a kind of metal with purple luster, slightly hard, extremely tough, wear-resistant, with good ductility, good thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance. Copper and its alloys are stable in dry air, but in humid air, a layer of green basic copper carbonate Cu(OH)CO is formed on its surface, commonly known as copper rust.

Copper in nature is divided into natural copper, copper oxide and copper sulfide. Common compounds are: copper hydroxide, copper oxide and copper sulfate. Because of its abundant reserves in nature, excellent performance and convenient processing, copper is second only to aluminum in the consumption of non-ferrous metal materials in China, and is widely used in electric, machinery manufacturing, construction industry, transportation and other fields.
