Medicinal sugar originated from Tianjinwei and is a traditional food in Beijing and Tianjin. It has a long history. Because its original formula has obvious dietotherapy and health care effect on common miscellaneous diseases caused by fire in different seasons, it was widely eaten by Tianjin people in modern times when the seasons changed, commonly known as "medicinal sugar".

1930 or so, there are more and more people selling medicine and sugar in the street. A big glass bottle is slung over your shoulder, and the sugar is held by a big bamboo. It is much more sanitary without hands. People who do this kind of business are generally young and middle-aged, and there are few elderly people. They shouted as they walked, their voices were like leather boards, and they rhymed with each other. They shout beautifully.
