What are the existing martial arts schools in China?

Shaolin, Wudang, Quanzhen, Emei, Kongtong, Nanquanmen and other major sects still have successors.

Others are more famous, such as "Bajiquan" in Cangzhou, Hebei.

Chinese martial arts has many schools and routines, which makes it a great sight.

Xi Yuntai's "History of Chinese Martial Arts" published by People's Sports Publishing House in 1985 has 46 sections totaling 75 types of boxing, and 27 sections of equipment, which shows its complexity.

In fact, within the four major sects of Shaolin, Wudang, Emei, and Nanquan we mentioned above, there are many branches. If a certain routine in each branch has distinctive characteristics, it may develop into a new branch.

In addition to the four major sects, there are a larger number of smaller sects, like stars in the sky, forming the grand view of Chinese martial arts culture.

From the perspective of organization and structure, martial arts groups are represented by sects; from the perspective of the inheritance and characteristics of martial arts, martial arts groups are represented by types of studies and routines.

The sect has a stronger social aspect, while the boxing styles and routines have a stronger technical aspect.

These two concepts of martial arts groups summarized from different angles are mutually inclusive and intertwined.
