Portrait introduction of Zhang Ziqing

This exhibit is a painting and calligraphy of Ming Dynasty, and it is a portrait of poet and doctor Zhang. Now it is collected in Zhejiang Provincial Museum.

Zhang Xiang Axis was written by Zeng Whale at the age of 59, which best embodies the representative style of "Bo School". The face of a portrait is baked and dyed with light ink before being colored. Ochre is slightly mixed with lead powder, and the ears and other parts are hooked with thicker ochre to achieve a seamless pen and ink color with both form and spirit.

The author teaches color with light ink, which is gorgeous but not vulgar, with both form and spirit. It is worthy of being a meticulous work by a vivid master.

Brief introduction of the author

Ceng Jing (1568 ~ 1650) was born in Putian, Fujian. The word Chen Bo. I have traveled to and from Jiangsu and Zhejiang all my life, and I am a portrait. He is good at portrait painting. While inheriting the traditional pastel rendering techniques, he draws lessons from some techniques of western painting, forming a unique painting method that pays attention to ink bones, bakes layer by layer, dyes and has a strong three-dimensional sense. He has a large following, so he founded the Bo School.
