The practice of steaming cold cakes

The making method of steamed cake is as follows:

1. Wash the glutinous rice with clear water, then soak the glutinous rice in water for 5 hours (or overnight), soak the rice leaves in water, and then cut off the hard parts of the rice leaves.

2. Pour the water into the pot. After the water is boiled, put the leaves in and boil them. Add a little salt. Boil the water for about 5 minutes, take it out and let it cool. Then put the red dates in the pot and cook for 10 minutes, and take them out for later use.

3. After the glutinous rice is soaked, pour out the water inside, change the water in the pot, put the glutinous rice in, and cook while cooking. After boiling, pour out the excess water in the pot and turn the heat down for 5 minutes. Keep stirring, it's time to cook.

4. Spread a layer of zongzi leaves on the steamer. If the leaves of rice dumplings are long, cut them from the middle, then spread half glutinous rice, spread them out with a shovel, tidy up the edges, spread a layer of red dates, spread the remaining glutinous rice on them, decorate them with a few dates, and finally spread a layer of rice dumplings leaves.

5. Steam hot water on the pot. After the steam comes up, turn to low heat for 30 minutes and simmer for 5 hours (or one night). Finally, cut into small pieces and put them on a plate, sprinkle with a little sugar and serve.
