If grave robbing is an "ancestral" craft, who was the earliest ancestor of grave robbers in history?

We now read a lot of grave-robbing novels, in which grave robbers often recognize their ancestors as Cao Cao's gold-mining schoolmasters. In fact, the real phenomenon of tomb-robbing began much earlier than Cao Cao's, and there were already records of tomb-robbing during the Zhou Dynasty, such as the text in the Lü's Spring and Autumn Annals we quoted in the previous article, which shows that there was already a relatively serious phenomenon of tomb-robbing at that time. We can even say that the history of grave robbing in China is almost as long as the history of Chinese burials.

Take a look at Sima Qian's "Records of the Grand Historian", which also mentions grave robbing in many places.

Tomb-robbing novels like to trace the ancestor of Cao Cao of course also did the warlord gang tomb-robbing thing. Cao Cao also set up two official positions, the "gold-touching lieutenant" and the "hairy mound general", which made grave robbers even more professionalized. This is the main reason why later generations of grave robbers recognize Cao Cao as their grandmaster.
