What is a Korean Geisha?

Geisha first appeared in Japan during the Genroku period (1688-1704) and have a history of more than 300 years. At that time, due to the shortage of brothels, some men from the private sector had to be recruited to the brothels to dress up as women and sing and dance to add to the entertainment; or some women from society were recruited to serve as drumming girls in the band. Later, it gradually transitioned to exclusively female geishas. From the moment they were born, geishas have served the dignitaries and wealthy businessmen of Japan's upper class society. Ordinary people can only see them in luxurious teahouses, restaurants and high-end restaurants. Determined by the status of their clients, geishas rarely appeared in public in the past. They live in seclusion. When they go out, they have to take a rickshaw with the curtain down. When walking, they have to put a large bamboo straw hat on their head to cover their entire face. The geisha community is quite closed and has always been shrouded in a mysterious situation. Even in Japan, which has a high degree of modern material civilization, ordinary people can only understand them through movies or TV shots.
