Peruvian traditional diet
Peruvians treat people to western food. Yellow vegetables, such as yellow potatoes, yellow pumpkins and yellow bell peppers, are indispensable raw materials. Peruvians have always revered yellow because they think they are descendants of the sun. At the banquet, potatoes are also essential.
Peruvians like to drink. Traditional drinks are Chicha and Pisco, which are made of corn and grapes respectively.
Generally speaking, Indians in mountainous areas like to drink Chicha wine, while residents in coastal cities like to drink Pisco wine. Besides, beer, coffee, cocoa, cola, mineral water and scented tea are all common drinks.
I like to eat fresh fruits such as grapes, bananas, mangoes and watermelons, and dried fruits such as raisins.
Peruvians usually have three meals a day, and breakfast is relatively simple, usually bread and butter, a cup of milk or coffee; Lunch and dinner are mostly valued, and it is best to have rich dishes.
Peruvians are used to western food and like Chinese food. They are used to eating with western knives and forks, but they are not used to using chopsticks from China.
2. Belief in festivals and eating customs. Inca Indians in Peru hold exorcism festivals regularly every September. Because September is the rainy season, the plague is easy to spread. In order to drive away diseases, everyone should fast on the first day of the full moon after the autumnal equinox. In the evening, get together and bake a tortilla with children's blood. After taking a bath, people use this bread to wipe their heads, faces, chests, shoulders and legs, thinking that it can eliminate the pain. Then wipe the threshold with this bread to prove that the whole family fasted and purified themselves.
The vast majority of Peruvian residents believe in Catholicism. They don't eat grotesque foods such as sea cucumbers in their diet.
3. Special dietary customs. The Kangba people in Peru have the social custom of getting together and drinking. Before the meeting, the host painted "Ashort" (a kind of pigment) on his face, and prepared musical instruments, wine sets and lime chewed with tobacco. The Mashato cassava wine used for the party was brewed three or four days ago. After the guests arrived, the host family's men walked around the guests in turn to show their welcome. Then, give the gourd or bamboo tube filled with "Mashato" wine to the guests, and the host and guests will drink it immediately and get drunk.
