Explanation of geographic map
The stone map drawn by Huang Shang of the Song Dynasty. According to Wang Zhiyuan's trek, the map was drawn after the sixteenth year of Chunxi (11 * A.D.) and engraved in the seventh year of Chunyou (1247 A.D.). The outlines of rivers and coasts are more correct than on previous maps. Mountains and forests were drawn in hieroglyphics. The names of the places are boxed to make them stand out. It is now in Suzhou. It also refers to maps in general. Qing Dynasty Yao Heng, Notes on the Hanxiu Cao Tang, Volume 3: "There are four geographical maps ...... the fourth of which is the country of Oros."
