Zhongshan University questions about swimming lessons~

The one upstairs is not from CUHK, right? Let me answer it~

1. Swimming class is not mandatory, freshman and sophomore physical education classes are mandatory, but the choice of what to take is free,

3. You can take swimming class every semester. You can not choose, the end of the sophomore year can swim on it

4. Freshman year, although more people choose, but the probability of being selected is not low, and then fewer people choose the course, if you want to choose, you will be able to choose. It's not certain when exactly you'll take it during the four semesters.

5. CUHK has a stamp system for recording extracurricular sports activities. The stamp accounts for 20 points of the total grade of 100 points for the semester. 20 stamps per semester will give you a perfect score of 20 points (no extra points for multiple stamps). Each semester swimming "competition" swimming if you can swim a full 50m can be stamped 5 stamps, if you do not know how to swim can not swim, there are many ways to get stamped. The certification of swimming proficiency at the end of each semester can be used in the second semester of the sophomore year. I.e., if you pass one time, you pass forever. (You need to keep the certificate)

6. You must take the test in the second semester of your sophomore year even if you don't take the test. If you can't pass the exam, the official consequence given is that you can't graduate. (You can take make-up exams in your junior and senior years.) That's it. But don't worry, there are a lot of people in college who don't know how to swim at first, and a lot of people who are afraid of swimming. The physical education teachers at CU are very good and responsible, and they will use scientific methods to help you overcome your fear and teach you how to swim, so don't worry about it at all. (The premise is that you can't give nothing at all, this premise everyone has it). The standard for sophomore year used to be 50m, this school year it was changed to 25m, not timed, very easy, really no need to be afraid. I've seen a few girls this semester who were terrified of swimming learn to swim; and I've gone from struggling to be able to swim 50m to being able to swim 400m.

Swimming is a survival skill, and it's better to learn it.

Believe in yourself~Don't be afraid~You can learn.

Wishing you a wonderful and enjoyable college life~CUHK welcomes you! ~~
