Modeling Characteristics of Traditional Pavilion in China

The architectural features of the Han Dynasty are: the overall shape is tall and straight, the eaves at the ridge end are slightly upturned, and the roof decoration is unpretentious. The period from Sui and Tang Dynasties to Song and Yuan Dynasties was the heyday of ancient architecture in China. No matter the scale of the building, the type of the building, or the luxury of the decoration, it has developed and improved by leaps and bounds. Although the buildings in Tang, Song, Liao, Jin and Yuan Dynasties are different in details, they basically meet the theoretical requirements of architectural style in Song Dynasty. We call the buildings in this period "Song-style architecture".

Song-style architecture features: the roof eaves have obvious downward bending lines, the cornices at both ends of the roof ridge are relatively upturned, and the roof eaves and wooden frames are luxuriously decorated. After the rapid development in the Tang and Song Dynasties, the ancient buildings in China became stable in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and the civil buildings were formally brought into the jurisdiction of the rulers, and the Ministry of Industry produced the document "Examples of Engineering Practices". Therefore, we call the architecture of this period "Qing architecture". The features of Qing-style architecture are: the overall shape is steady and generous, the roof eaves are well-behaved, the front ridge is straight, the wing angle is slightly warped, and the decoration is gorgeous.
