Weaving patterns on pottery found at sites such as Maishan, Yangshao, and Qingliangang are leftover impressions of woven fabrics. During the Shang and Zhou Dynasties, the woven pattern was already printed as a common decoration on primitive celadon, printed hard pottery and gray pottery, and Han Dynasty ceramics inherited this traditional pattern. From the Tang Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, the woven pattern has also been popular, it evolved into brocade pattern in the late period, often used as the ground pattern or edge pattern of the object.
